Series Creator Tim Kring is pitching Heroes: Eclipsed, another sequel series to the late 00s hit.
Heroes, the series which superpowered us through the late 00s is being pitched for another revival.
Telling the story of ordinary folk who gained supernatural abilities, the show took superpowers mainstream. Viewers tuned in to watch the Heroes “Save the cheerleader, save the world” and the show launched the careers of Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto.
Now writer Tim Kring, who brought the show back for 2015’s Heroes Reborn mini-series, has plans for more.
Heroes: Eclipsed is set years after the events of the original series as new evos are being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives. Featuring familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution, it will be up to this new group of heroes to save the world.
According to Deadline, Heroes: Eclipsed is being offered to both the streamers and NBC, home of the original series. Kring and Jordan Cerf are executive producing the new show for Universal Television.
Is there room for another superpowered genre show, without a comic angle like Extraordinary or the X-rated antics of The Boys? We’ll keep you posted.
In the UK, you can currently stream the original series of Heroes on ITVX. Heroes Reborn is available to purchase on Prime Video and Apple TV+.
