Things are slotting into place for the planned new adaptation of His Dark Materials, that’s being developed by the BBC and Bad Wolf Productions. All signs had already been pointing to the new drama filming in Wales later this year. And with the confirmation of the first pieces of casting – and a major director – things are very much starting to come together.
Based on the books by Philip Pullman, the adaptation is being penned by Jack Thorne, and it’s reported now attracted Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper (The King’s Speech) to direct.
Furthermore, Dafne Keen, who co-starred in the film Logan, is set to take on the role of Lyra. Meanwhile, Lin-Manuel Miranda will be playing Lee Scoresby.
More casting is set to be announced in the coming weeks. We’ll also let you know a filming start date once we have it.
