A new article over at Wales Online has been chatting about the ramping up of television production in the country, and offering just a few little morsels about the upcoming shoot of His Dark Materials.

This is the BBC’s new adaptation of Philip Pullman’s books, that recently added Dafne Keen and Lin-Manual Miranda to the cast list. Furthermore, Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper will be directing the episodes too.

The article confirms that the show is on the slate for Bad Wolf Productions next, and that the plan will be to film at the Wolf Studios Wales base (although location work around Wales is also set to be factored in). That’s recently played host to the adaptation of The Discovery Of Witches for Sky, that’s just wrapped. Pre-production work is now underway on His Dark Materials there.

Furthermore, crew are being interviewed to work on the show, with James North its production designer.

Filming will commence this year, with an eye on transmission in 2019. The full article can be read here.
