‘Homemade Who’ returns for 2025

Recreate your favourite Doctor Who moment from 2005-2025 to win fantastic prizes!

Homemade Who is back this year, celebrating two decades since Doctor Who’s 2005 revival, to raise money and awareness for mental health charity Mind!

Homemade Who

Back during the Covid lockdowns, fans united to recreate their favourite Doctor Who moments while stuck at home for the heart-warming project.

More than 250 entries were received from over 20 countries around the world. They featured cardboard Daleks (complete with sink plunger), tin-foil Cybermen, and some very dramatic speeches delivered from people’s bedrooms (sorry neighbours).

With 2025 marking twenty years since Doctor Who’s modern era launched, Homemade Who is once again encouraging fans to recreate iconic scenes at home (and, this time, outside the home).

Don’t worry if you don’t have everything you need to make the perfect costume – in the true spirit of Doctor Who, this is all about old-school creativity and imagination.

As one YouTube comment described it: “NewWho on a ClassicWho budget.”

Every clip sent in will be included in a big new compilation video this November, when the makers of the organisers’ favourite clip will also win an amazing bundle of Doctor Who prizes!

To join in, just submit a short video acting out any Doctor Who moment or scene from 2005-2025.

A FEW SIMPLE RULES:

Don’t include any actual footage or audio from the TV series.

Your clip should be about 5 – 30 seconds long.

Film in wide/landscape (16:9 ideally) – not portrait or square – and in HD if possible.

Don’t add any music or text/titles to your clip, or use AI-created imagery.

Entrants under the age of 18 must ask permission from a parent or legal guardian before submitting an entry.

WHERE TO SEND IN YOUR VIDEO:

Email your video to homemadewho@yahoo.com – including the episode title, your country, and how you’d like to be credited (name or @ username on Instagram, etc)

Please don’t compress the file size as it reduces image quality – it’s fine if it’s a big file.

And yes, you’re welcome to submit as many entries are you like!

The deadline for entries to Homemade Who is midnight on 1 November 2025.

Don’t forget to subscribe to the YouTube channel and follow @Homemade.Who on Instagram to see everyone’s clips throughout the year.
