Everyone’s favourite little twiglet is getting his own series of short films called, obviously, I Am Groot.

It was mentioned on 2021’s Disney+ Day in November, but now the series is only months away – I Am Groot arrives on the 10th of August.

Ahead of the launch, the series now has its own promo poster…

Channelling those summer vibes, young Groot is chilling out to tunes from one of Peter Quill’s mixtapes. We’re not sure who the little guys with all the eyes are though!

The series of original short films are set to follow Baby Groot’s glory days as he grows up and gets into trouble among the stars. So, from the point of continuity, we guess that’s around the time of The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

While he’s always been a creature of few words. Vin Diesel is returning to voice the character once more.

Of course, Groot will be back with the Guardians in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, directed by Taika Waititi, which lands in cinemas this in July.

Beyond that, there’s The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special due at the end of the year and The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 which should land on the big screen in May 2023. Both of those are directed by James Gunn, who also serves as executive producer on I Am Groot.

As She-Hulk also lands this August, it looks like we’re set to see the lighter side of Marvel this summer.
