Here’s one we didn’t see coming. ITV is looking into opening a mini theme park in the middle of London, to allow people to “experience” its TV shows.
It sounds like the project is being fast-tracked too, with the network looking for a launch in 2018. Shows such as Downton Abbey, Victoria, The Voice and, er, Broadchurch are set to be part of the attractions. It’s currently looking for a suitable venue in the zone one area of London (that’s close to the middle, non-London people).
An ITV statement to the Evening Standard said that “as part of our business we have a team which operates experiential events around our programmes, including the Emmerdale Studio Experience and This Morning Live, and are always looking at new ways to expand this and bring in new programme brands”.
Further details as we get them…
