The actress has got the skills to play a character with more than one personality…

News has reached us overnight that Tatiana Maslany has been selected for the starring role in Marvel’s She-Hulk show! Maslany previously held down the lead in sci-fi cloning series Orphan Black for five seasons between 2013-2017.

If there were any doubt that Marvel would go for a lighter tone with its forthcoming Disney+ streaming series, that doubt was completely snuffed out by the choice of Jessica Gao – who wrote arguably the best episode of Adult Swim’s Rick And Morty – as head writer on the show, and Dead to Me and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘s Kat Coiro as director.

Gao received an Emmy award for writing Rick And Morty‘s ‘Pickle Rick’, and has also worked on HBO’s acclaimed comedy series, Silicon Valley. Now, she’s at the top of the table developing She-Hulk for Disney’s streaming service. Koiro has also worked on Shameless and Modern Family.

Marvel announced that it was working on a She-Hulk series at D23 back in August, 2019 while also confirming that they planned to make a series out of the Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight comics.

The character of Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk, has been established as the cousin of Bruce Banner. Walters first got her powers after Bruce had to give her an emergency blood transfusion. However, She-Hulk is more like the Smart Hulk from this year’s Avengers: Endgame, and carries on working in her successful career as a lawyer.
