Mountainhead – HBO announce a film from Succession’s Jesse Armstrong
The movie project is his feature directing debut.
Written and directed by Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, Mountainhead has just finished production in Park City, Utah.
The details are scant, but the film’s longline says “A group of billionaire friends get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis”.

It stars Steve Carrell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Hugo Van Yalk, Cory Michael Smith as Venis and Ramy Youssef as Jeff.
The wider cast includes Hadley Robinson, Andy Daly, Ali Kinkade, Daniel Oreskes, David Thompson, Ami MacKenzie and Ava Kostia as Paula.
Mountainhead debuts on HBO and Max in the US on May 31st 2025. In the UK, we can watch on Sky and streaming service NOW on 1st June.
