Updated 18/05/25: Mountainhead‘s official trailer lands.
Ahead of the film’s HBO premiere on May 31st 2025, which translates to a June 1st landing on Sky, there’s a new trailer for Mountainhead.
Written and directed by Succession’s Jesse Armstrong, it gives us another look a the show’s four tech billionaires. Together, they indulge in some juvenile bro behaviour before chaos hits in the real world.
We also now have a tag line for the movie too: Humanity is in their hands.
The film stars Steve Carell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Souper (Hugo Van Yalk), Cory Michael Smith as Venis, and Ramy Youssef as Jeff.
The supporting cast includes Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Amie MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.
Mountainhead will be on Sky Atlantic and stream on Now in the UK.

Mountainhead bottles four tech bros in a remote location while an international crisis develops in the real world.
Even in the short teaser trailer, we can see that the film is rife with the banter that made Succession so watchable. It also delivers some pointed satire on social media and its potential to stoke tensions…

Mountainhead – HBO announce a film from Succession’s Jesse Armstrong
The movie project is his feature directing debut.
Written and directed by Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, Mountainhead has just finished production in Park City, Utah.
The details are scant, but the film’s longline says “A group of billionaire friends get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis”.
It stars Steve Carrell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Hugo Van Yalk, Cory Michael Smith as Venis and Ramy Youssef as Jeff.
The wider cast includes Hadley Robinson, Andy Daly, Ali Kinkade, Daniel Oreskes, David Thompson, Ami MacKenzie and Ava Kostia as Paula.
