Ncuti Gatwa will be the United Kingdom’s Eurovision spokesperson delivering the results of the UK’s National Jury live during the Grand Final on Saturday 17 May 2025.
Gatwa joins the illustrious BBC Eurovision family, following in the footsteps of previous spokespeople, Joanna Lumley, Catherine Tate and Nigella Lawson, among many others.
Famous for his role as The Doctor in Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa marks a fabulous collision of parallel BBC universes, interstellar bookings, and extra special treats for BBC viewers as the UK’s Eurovision spokesperson.
On Saturday 17 May, or Super Saturday, the BBC will bring the nation together for an evening of event television. Along with the spectacle that will be the Eurovision Grand Final, audiences will also be treated to an extra special Eurovision-themed episode of Doctor Who.
The Interstellar Song Contest, the sixth episode in the current season, sees The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) travel to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest, co-hosted by Rylan – where planets from across the universe compete for the top prize. Along for the ride is the King of Eurovision himself, Graham Norton.
From the Interstellar Song Contest, it’s onto the biggest song competition on Earth, the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final, where Twenty-five countries compete to be crowned Eurovision champion 2025.
The act Remember Monday will represent the UK with their song ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’
Written by Juno Dawson and Russell T Davies and directed by Ben A Williams with music composed by Murray Gold, The Interstellar Song Contest will transmit on Saturday 17 May at 8am on BBC iPlayer. Providing the football match doesn’t go into extra time, The Interstellar Song Contest will air on BBC One in the UK between the FA Cup Final and the Eurovision Grand Final. Those outside of the UK can watch The Interstellar Song Contest on Disney+ where available simultaneously starting at 3am ET/12am PT.
Watch Ncuti Gatwa deliver the results of the UK National Jury live during the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final, Saturday 17 May 8pm BST on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
