This week’s upcoming Saturday Night Live UK host Ncuti Gatwa arrived to discover the regeneration secret of SNL UK in a humorous sketch.

Gatwa, known for playing the Fifteenth Doctor on Doctor Who, along with his roles on Sex Education, and the movie Barbie, will host the eighth and final episode of the first season of Saturday Night Live UK on 16 May.

In the funny spoof, the host of this past Saturday’s episode, Hannah Waddingham regenerates into Ncuti Gatwa, revealing the process to be the crux behind the show’s production.

In the 2 May episode hosted by Aimee Lou Wood, Hammed Animashaun and Wood played the Doctor and his companion in a comedy Doctor Who sketch, leaving Doctor Who fans wondering if this precluded any chance that Gatwa would participate in a similar sketch.

SNL UK is a British adaptation of the American show featuring a regular comedy cast, musical performances and a special guest host.

Ncuti Gatwa will host Saturday Night Live UK featuring musical guest Holly Humberstone on Sky and NOW 10pm BST Saturday 16 May 2026.
