The show, which follows three friends coming to terms with the events of one fateful night, comes to Paramount+ in late November 2023.
With her time on Doctor Who in the rear view mirror, Jodie Whittaker is much in demand for contemporary drama.
Currently airing on BBC One, Series 2 of Jimmy McGovern’s Time sees her play an inmate of a women’s prison. She’s incarcerated alongside Tamara Lawrence and Bella Ramsey.
Whittaker has also been filming Toxic Town for Netflix, with Robert Caryle, Aimee Lou Wood, Rory Kinnear and Brendan Coyle. That’s Jack Thorne’s dramatization of the quest for justice after the Corby Poisonings.
One Night
However, next up in the UK is the Australian drama One Night from writer Emily Ballou. The show is described as “…a character-driven mystery about female friendships under incredible emotional and existential strain.”
The story sees three friends reunited when one writes a novel based on a tragic event in their collective past.
For One Night, Whittaker sports an Australian accent and stars alongside Nicole da Silva (Wentworth) and Yael Stone (Orange is the New Black).
While the show landed on September 1st in Australia, Paramount+ UK & Ireland have confirmed a launch date of November 24th, 2023.
Secrets always surface.
