Rashomon, Akira Kurosawa’s acclaimed masterpiece – and regularly elected one of the best films of all time – is set to receive the TV adaptation treatment, courtesy of Amblin Television…
If you haven’t seen the original film it’s well worth checking it out, but it follows the murder of a samurai and the investigation following the incident. The twist is that each perspective we hear from – the samurai’s wife, a bandit, the samurai himself (via medium), and a passing woodsman – is very different, thus distorting our idea of the truth.
In a short tweet Amblin announced that there were going to be doing a direct adaptation of the series, reinventing it as a ‘mystery thriller series’…
