‘The Bells of St John’ added over 2 million viewers to the 6.2m (29.8%) overnight figure, as the consolidated figures came in at 8.4m.
Prisoners’ Wives came to an end on BBC One on Thursday with 4m (17.1%) captivated by the finale. And, as one show finished, a new one returned on Friday as the Tim Vine-less Not Going Out entertained 4.2m (19.1%) viewers who hadn’t, erm, gone out.
