Are you ready for another puzzle? The new series looks like a trip in more ways then one!

Last month, Netflix treated us to a first look at the second season of Russian Doll. Now, they’ve released a teaser trailer for the show, which is set to return in April.

Russian Doll centres on Nadia, played by Natasha Lyonne, a woman with a propensity for getting caught in temporal phenomena. The first run saw her trapped reliving the day of her death in an ongoing time loop.

Season 2 is set four years after the first. The new episodes will follow Nadia and Alan (Charlie Barnett) as they pass through an unexpected time portal in Manhattan which causes them both to face their past. How we get there from where they ended, in separate in alternate realities, remains to be seen!

The trailer teases a nightmarish trip which increases in intensity as we go on a subway journey. Nadia seemingly wakes on a train at one point – perhaps this is her entry point to the new loop. Regardless, Nadia clearly retains her plain speaking ways. The promo’s only dialogue sees her raise a glass saying: “When the universe f**ks with you, let it!”

Joining Natasha Lyonne, who also showruns and serves as executive producer, are the returning cast of Charlie Barnett, Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez and Elizabeth Ashley. It also adds Sharlto Copley, Annie Murphy and Carolyn Michelle Smith to the ensemble.

Russian Doll returns to Netflix on the 20th of April.
