Gillian Anderson, Romola Garai, Keeley Hawes, Billie Piper and Rufus Sewell star in Scoop.
Ahead of its April 5th release, Netflix have landed a full trailer for its upcoming Prince Andrew interview drama.
Scoop takes us behind the scenes of the events which led up to the revelatory 2019 BBC Newsnight interview between Emily Maitlis and Prince Andrew, who was attempting clear the rumours surrounding his friendship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Its transmission had far-reaching implications for the Prince, seeing him effectively withdraw from public life.
Scoop is based on the memoir of producer Sam McAllister, played by Billie Piper, and highlights the women who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring one of the biggest news stories of the decade to light.
Gillian Anderson plays the journalist and interviewer Emily Maitlis, while Rufus Sewell plays Prince Andrew. Romola Garai is Newsnight’s editor Esme Wren and Keeley Hawes plays the Prince’s private secretary Amanda Thirsk.
The film’s director is director Phillip Martin (Catherine the Great, The Crown), and was adapted from McAllister’s book by Peter Moffat (Undercover) and Geoff Bussetil (Bulletproof). The Lighthouse and Voltage TV co-produce.
