The king of British light entertainment, Sir Bruce Forsyth, had died at the age of 89 it’s been confirmed. The news was announced by his manager, Ian Wilson, who told the BBC that “it is with great sadness that the Forsyth family announce that Sir Bruce passed away this afternoon, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Wilnelia and all his children”.
His family have asked for their privacy to be respected, but have thanked everyone who sent Sir Bruce their best wishes and cards in recent times.
It’s little secret that Sir Bruce Forsyth had been ill for a while, and had rarely been seen in recent times. His back catalogue of work covers so much: The Generation Game, Strictly Come Dancing, Play Your Cards Right, Have I Got News For You, umpteen quiz shows and special documentaries too.
Rest in peace, Sir Bruce. What a life.
