We may still be waiting for season 3 to air, but production on Strange New Worlds season 4 begins.

With the series now before the cameras, 0fficial Star Trek sources confirm that filming is taking place on the at CBS Stages in Ontario.

Chronicling the exploits of the USS Enterprise crew under Captain Christopher Pike, the series began in 2022. Spinning out of Star Trek: Discovery, the show serves as a prequel to the original Star Trek series.

To celebrate, the official website has dropped a snap of Ethan Peck (Spock), Celia Rose Gooding (Uhura) and Anson Mount (Pike) on the Enterprise bridge set. While Anson Mount bears a clapperboard, the most striking thing about the photo is Celia Rose Gooding’s hair. It’s a far cry from the close-cropped style her character has sported so far in the show.

Of course, information is scant on Strange New Worlds season 4, but that’s hardly surprising with a whole run of prior episodes still in the can.

Season 3

When the series returns, there’s an almighty Gorn cliffhanger to resolve, as well as a new character to get used to in the form of engineer Scotty (Martin Quinn). Also, we know that Christine Chapel’s storyline will feature Dr Roger Korby. Set to become an important figure in her life, he’s played by Cillian O’Sullivan (Then You Run).

Plus, New Zealand comic actor Rhys Darby (Our Flag Means Death) joins the show in an as yet unspecified role.

We’ll keep you posted on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4. And season 3 for that matter.
