“The Rebellion Begins” on Disney+ in just under three weeks.
It feels like it’s been a long time coming, but the Star Wars Rogue One prequel series Andor is nearly upon us. Yes, it’s the prequel series to a prequel movie, dovetailing into the events of Rogue One which led into Episode IV: A New Hope.
The show debuts with a triple-episode premiere on Wednesday, September 21st and Disney+ have just debuted another poster for the show, showcasing the show’s heroes and villains in classic Star Wars style.
While similar to another recent poster, this one has much darker hues. The former offered a sunset background, albeit with tie-fighters. Here, we get star destroyers and literal storm clouds gathering behind the characters. (Okay, it’s more like plumes of smoke from an explosion, but you get the point.)
Top of the pile, as you might imagine is Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, with Genevieve O’Reilly’s Mon Mothma just below. Also featured are Bix Caleen (Adria Arjona), Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard) and Kyle Soler as an Imperial office.
In the lower orders, we spot Denise Gough as another Imperial and Forest Whitaker, reprising his role as Saw Gerrera). Plus, there’s Elizabeth Dulau, Varadu Sethu and Game of Thrones‘ Faye Marsay.
Second Series
We already know that Andor had a another series coming, with showrunner Tony Gilroy explaining that the second run will jump in years towards Rogue One. The first series begins some five years before the events of the movie.
Star Wars: Andor lands on Disney+ with that three-episode premiere on September 21st. After that, nine further episodes drop on subsequent Wednesdays.
