We’ve just been treated to the first trailer for DC Universe’s Titans, but now some exciting news has emerged for the future of the new streaming service – a Stargirl series.
The show is being written by Geoff Johns, who will also produce alongside Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, and is the fourth live action show in the works from the platform joining Titans, Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol.
Johns told Deadline: “Obviously, Stargirl was the first character I created for DC. Most important, Courtney Whitmore was inspired by my sister who passed away. To have an opportunity to tell a story celebrating this superhero was literally the first thing I wanted to do because it is so personal to me. Also, a character that speaks to being young, to a legacy and to pushing forward seems so important to me nowadays.”
Stargirl will premiere with 13-episodes in 2019, following high schooler Courtney Whitmore as she joins up with the Justice Society of America to fight villains in the past and the present.
Side note: Greg Berlanti now has a record 15 live-action series on the air. And you thought you were busy.
