The Paper – The Office spin-off comes to Sky this September

Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore and Oscar Nuñez star in The Paper

While not all US adaptations of UK shows are a roaring success, it’s fair to say the American version of The Office outshone the original. Soon becoming its own thing, the series made household names of Steve Carell, John Krasinski and their colleagues at paper supplier Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch.

Running for nine seasons, The Office wrapped up in 2013 but has long been mooted for a revival. Now, instead the show has spawned a spin-off titled The Paper.

Using the same mockumentary style The Paper boasts an impressive cast. It stars Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient), Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus), Chelsea Frei (The Moodys), Melvin Gregg (Nine Perfect Strangers), Gbemisola Ikumelo (Black Ops), Alex Edelman (Teenage Bounty Hunters), Ramona Young (Man Seeking Woman) and Tim Key (The Ballad of Wallis Island).

Plus, Oscar Nuñez reprises his role as accountant Oscar Martinez from The Office.

The official synopsis for The Paper gives a hint of what to expect…

The fictional camera crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin are striking set and moving from Scranton to Toledo. The stars of their new mockumentary are staffers of a historic Midwestern newspaper, the Toledo Truth-Teller, and the publisher trying to bring it back to life with volunteer reporters.

The Paper comes from creators, writers and executive producers Greg Daniels (Upload) and Michael Koman.

In the US, the show launches on Peacock on September 4th 2025.

Sky confirm we’ll get the show a day later in the UK on Friday September 5th. The run begins with four episodes, followed by weekly drops of two episodes until the series ends on September 26th.
