The Office is surely one of the most successful sitcoms over the past 20 years. Having come to life with the Golden Globe-winning British series, created and overseen by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, it then proved – eventually – a spectacular success when NBC took it to America.
The show ran for nine seasons in all in the US, headlined by Steve Carell, before shutting its doors in 2013.
However, the doors of Dunder Mifflin look like they may be opening again, with NBC now looking for a new take on the show. It’s targeting a return for the 2018/19 television season in America, and would look to bring back some old characters, but introduce a whole host of new ones. Steve Carell would not be back for the new show.
The search for a new office manager is reportedly underway already, apparently. More news as we get it…
