Get ready for a brutal battle as The Penguin attempts to take over Gotham’s underworld.
With the show approaching its premiere this month, there’s another new trailer for The Penguin.
Colin Farrell stars as Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin, in a series which bridges the gap between Matt Reeves The Batman movie and its sequel, expected in October 2026.
The eight-part series takes place in the wake of the events of the film and the death of Mob boss Carmine Falcone.
It will depict a fight for control of Gotham’s underworld. The Penguin is up against Carmine’s daughter Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti), and arrested mob boss and Falcone rival Salvatore Maroni (Clancy Brown).
The series also stars Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Deirdre O’Connell, Carmen Ejogo, François Chau, Theo Rossi and David H. Holmes. However, it’s reported that the show will be free of appearances from Robert Pattinson’s Batman himself.
The Penguin comes from writer and showrunner Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Matt Reeves also executive produces, with LeFranc, Farrell, Dylan Clark and Craig Zobel.
Along with the movie it draws on, the show sits outside of the James Gunn/Peter Safran DCU plans, as part of the “Elseworlds” category.
With a September 19th release date in the US, The Penguin comes to Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK a day later on Friday 20th. Episodes will follow weekly.
