Stranger Things 4 is coming in 2022, but how many more seasons can we expect after that?
As we might have feared, despite some marketing, Stranger Things 4 won’t be with us until 2022. It was announced on the show’s Twitter feed (@Stranger_Things) as follows:

Is Stranger Things 4 the end?
There’s been plenty of gossip about Stranger Things 5 happening, commissioned, about to be green-lit and even filming back to back to catch-up on time lost to Covid. Executive producer Shawn Levy recently spoke to Collider about his new film Free Guy, and they asked him about season 5, and possibly beyond. Here’s Levy’s answer:
“I have the end in sight. The brothers have the end in sight. There is a plan and that too will be shared not quite as soon as a sense of when Season 4 is coming out, but soon enough. I can say this. No, one’s making it up as we go along and there is an endgame, if you will.”
The brothers refers to Matt and Ross Duffer, who have before said they had a close-ended story in mind for four or five seasons.
What’s our view?
Given how much market presence the show has, we would say Stranger Things 5 is a shoe-in. We also imagine there might be tension over a story being finished and Netflix wishing for a further series. This might mean a spin-off, or perhaps a new project announced between seasons 4 and 5 so they can piggy-back the publicity.
We’ll keep you posted.
