In only its second week of release, Stranger Things sets more viewing records and even more seem likely
It’s only been a few days since we reported on Stranger Things season 4 breaking records, now in the second week since release (ten days actually) the audience is rising fast and more records have fallen. As Netflix reports:
In week two, Stranger Things 4 broke three new records:
It became the most watched season of English-language TV in a single week on Netflix with a staggering 335.01M hours viewed in the last seven days
The series hit #1 on the Top 10 lists in 91 countries, a first for an English TV series
In less than two weeks since its premiere, Stranger Things 4 has become the first TV series to jump into the top 3 on our Most Popular List with an astounding 621.80M hours viewed.
There’s even more to unpack — if you look at the Top 10 table in this post from Netflix, you’ll see the show is taking the top four positions with its various seasons. By any measure it’s a success, at least in terms of audience. Rotten Tomatoes is still showing 90% ratings for both critics and audience.
What’s next?
The most popular list is for shows in their first 28 days, recall we’ve just seen 10 days figures, so it’s not hard to predict Stranger Things season 4 will take the #1 spot next week, pushing the two Bridgerton series into second and third place.
How high can it get? At this stage we can’t estimate, but we’ll keep you posted.
