Avengers star Cobie Smulders led the cast as a private investigator…
Stumptown, which had previously been renewed for a second season, has now been cancelled, it’s been confirmed.
Variety notes this week that their source blamed “timing and scheduling needs for the current season that have been impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic” for the sudden and unexpected cancellation, and that ABC “opted not to move forward with the second season as planned” due to those factors.
The show will now be shopped to other networks who might be interested in pursuing a second season.
Stumptown centres on the complex life of Dex Parios (Cobie Smulders), an ex vet and Oregon PI with plenty of personal problems to cope with on top of her regularly dangerous day job. Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, Camryn Manheim and Michael Ealy also star in the series, which was created by Jason Richman.
Alibi began airing Stumptown in the UK on April 29th, after the channel managed to scoop up the broadcast rights to ABC’s procedural show.
