The South Londoners with superpowers will return for more.
Netflix have official announced the continuation of Supacell with news of a season 2.
The show, which brings a grounded South London take on the superhero genre, topped Netflix’s global TV series list and maintained a spot in the Top 10 for six weeks, assuring its future.
The story follows Michael (Doctor Who‘s Tosin Cole), alongside Andre (Eric Kofi Abrefa), Rodney (Calvin Demba), Sabrina (Nadine Mills), and Tazer (Josh Tedeku) who all discover they have special abilities.
Creator Rapman told Netflix’s Tudum:
“Supacell Season 1 is my Batman Begins. It’s a prequel of what they’ll be like. Season 2 is when you really see what they become. That future you saw at the end of the pilot in London, that exact future doesn’t exist anymore. They’ve changed everything. It’s going to be interesting when we get into the writers’ room.”

While you wait for season 2, you can catch Supacell star Tosin Cole on stage in London’s West End. He’s appearing in Benedict Lombe’s acclaimed romantic comedy Shifters, at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

With the clock counting down until Des has to leave again, memories of their teen years collide with their present and they’re forced to question if destiny has brought them back together for a reason.
The show, which has transferred from the Bush Theatre, has a limited 9-week run from 12th August until 12th October 2024.
