The action is based in South London, with a cast led by former Doctor Who star Tosin Cole.

Here’s the official synopsis for Supacell

Supacell is about a group of five ordinary people who unexpectedly develop superpowers. They have little in common except for one thing: they are all Black South Londoners. It is down to one man, Michael Lasaki, to bring them all together in order to save the woman he loves.”

Joining Cole, the cast includes Nadine Mills, Eric Kofi Abrefa, Calvin Demba, Josh Tedeku, Adelayo Adedayo (The Responder), Rayxia Ojo and Giacomo Mancini. Plus, Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan).

Speaking to Games Radar, Rapman said:

“I know the superhero genre, 100% that’s been done to death, but Supacell is different – it’s a superpower drama about normal people, real people, not people that are martyrs, not people that are going to save the world, just people that try to save themselves and their families. Just what normal people would do.”

Supacell premieres on Netflix on 27th June, 2024 with six episodes.
