Sky have confirmed that they are picking up the new HBO drama Task.
The seven-part show, set in the suburbs of Philadelphia, stars Mark Ruffalo as an FBI agent with a mission end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man.
Task comes from Brad Ingelsby (Mare of Easttown), who is the series creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer.
Alongside Ruffalo, the show stars Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Emilia Jones (Locke & Key), Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon) and Martha Plimpton (The Regime). Also Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Thuso Mbedu, Alison Oliver, Raúl Castillo, Silvia Dionicio and Phoebe Fox.
Task will air in the UK on Sky, and streaming service Now, with weekly episodes from September 2025. Probably on Sky Atlantic, although that’s yet to be confirmed.
