With a lot of experience at the helm for this recently-announced adaptation, here’s what we know about The Baron In The Trees:

Despite the book being released in 1957, the talent that’s accumulated to give the novel a feature adaptation makes it feel as though things have come together at exactly the right time.

What’s The Baron In The Trees about?

The feature film will be adapted from the Italo Calvino novel of the same title. His most notable titles include Invisible Cities and If on a winter’s night a traveler, he’s known for weaving immersive and intriguing narratives. This particular story follows a young boy who has spent his entire life under the vindictive reign of his older sister. One day he decides enough is enough, he climbs a tress and vows to never touch the ground again.

Who’s behind it?

Alice Rohrwacher (La Chimera) is set to write and direct the adaptation, with Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli (Fatherland) producing.
