Following its revival in 2016, we’ve had three series of the machine-battling Robot Wars. But it looks as though that’s our lot, with the news that BBC Two has pulled the pull on the show.
The show, that was hosted by Dara O Briain and Scanlon, will not be getting a series four order, and the news was confirmed by the BBC yesterday. It sounds like a case of the BBC wanting to make room in its schedules for other things in this instance.
Here are the confirmation Tweets…
We are very proud of #RobotWars and would like to thank @MentornMedia, the presenters @DaraOBriain and @AngelaScanlon, and all those involved in the last three series. However, in order to create room for new shows it won’t be returning to @BBCTwo.

There’s been an instant fan backlash to the news, not least given that it’s an entertainment show that has such an educational backbone to it. The BBC, though, has made its choice sadly.
