The BBC has ordered 204 more episodes of Pointless

Later on today, a new series of the never-ending (but we like it anyway) Pointless arrives on BBC One. The show started all the way back in 2009, and right now, it’s the UK’s highest rated quiz programme. Approximately 17 million episodes or so have been made.

And there are more on the way! The BBC has commissioned a further 204 episodes of the show, covering both Pointless and Pointless Celebrities. Both Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman are remaining on board, too.

The official BBC announcement features quotes from Armstrong and Osman. It seems only fair we let them have their say.

Here’s Mr Armstrong:

“I cannot tell you how much I adore hosting Pointless and I’m thrilled that the BBC commissioned us to produce over 200 more episodes. I cannot wait to meet a whole host of Pointless contenders and of course, be reunited with Richard who I’ve genuinely missed. But don’t tell him that”.

And here’s Mr Osman:

“It is such a treat to be back behind my laptop to deliver a whole host of brand new Pointless facts and figures for our fantastic viewers. I’m especially delighted to be heading back to where it all began for Xander and I at our original BBC TV Centre studio home”.

As you were.
