It’s been 20 years since the sitcom The Brittas Empire came to an end, with the final episode of the show screened on BBC One in 1997. 53 episodes were made in all, but it’s laid dormant ever since.
It’s still laying dormant too, but the cast of the show will be reuniting on October 2nd, at the Ringwood Leisure Centre. The reason? The centre is re-opening, and given that it stood in for the exterior and swimming pool scenes in the TV show, the idea was put together to try and get The Brittas Empire cast to mark the occasion. The idea came to fruition, too.
As such, Chris Barrie, Pippa Haywood, Harriet Thorpe, Julia St John, Judy Flynn, Jill Greenacre, Tim Marriot, Andree Bernard and John Carrigan will all be in attendance, along with writer Andrew Norris. The reunion was put together by Dannii Cohen, Chortle reports.
Ringwood Leisure Centre will reopen to the public on October 3rd. That’s the kind of information you come to this site for, right?
