Patrick Brammall leads the cast of The Dispatcher, based on the book by Ryan David Jahn.
Actor and writer Patrick Brammall has popped up on UK viewers’ radar for the imported Australian comedy Colin from Accounts. However, the star also takes on plenty of dramatic roles.
His next project promises a much harder edge – he is leading The Dispatcher, a six-part thriller for Apple TV+.
Set in Australia, the series comes from writer Kris Mrksa, who adapts Ryan David Jahn’s book of the same name.
Here’s the premise for The Dispatcher:
Police detective Ian Hunt’s life fell apart 10 years ago when his young daughter Maggie disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a young girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.
The series comes from executive producers Jamie Laurenson and Hakan Kousetta (60Forty Films), Mrksa and Joanna Werner (Werner Film Productions).
We’ll keep you posted on The Dispatcher… and on the BBC Two start date for Colin from Accounts Season 2.
