The BBC has published The Guest interviews with cast and creatives
As often happens, the BBC has released a set of interviews with those involved in new series The Guest. If you need a reminder, this four-part show, filmed in Wales, depicts a psychological game of cat-and-mouse between cleaner, Ria (Gabrielle Creevy) and her employer, Fran (Eve Miles). As the two women’s lives become intertwined by shared secrets, an obsessive co-dependence emerges that ultimately threatens to become dangerous and manipulative.
The first episode is broadcast on Monday 1 September 2025, with all episodes on BBC iPlayer from 6am and episodes airing each Monday on BBC One and BBC One Wales at 9pm.
So, who is interviewed?
Both Myles and Creevy explain their characters as well as something of the journey during the series. We also get some sense of the how the story also explores class and wealth. Across several of the interviews, there’s a clear identification of this as a welsh story, and one celebrating a more textured society than often shown.
Write Matthew Barry also talks about the influences on the story, including 90s thrillers like The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and Pacific Heights.
If you want more insight into the show ahead of next Monday’s broadcast, do read through — there’s plenty to digest. Meantime, here’s the trailer:
