The hit BBC sitcom returns for more spectral shenanigans. 

(Updated 27/09/22): BBC Sounds announce a further podcast special, blending two of our paranormal favourites.

With the new series of Ghosts airing, and Inside… Ghosts going behind the scenes, there’s now another piece of ghostly listening – a special edition of the podcast Uncanny.

Exploring the unknown in Uncanny, writer Danny Robins explores the truth behind real life paranormal mysteries. In Uncanny Meets Ghosts, he will meet Laurence Rickard, who plays caveman Robin and the severed head of Tudor nobleman Sir Humphrey Bone in the sitcom. Laurence reveals the supernatural inspirations for the show and tells Danny about his own real-life paranormal experiences.

A Bafflegab and Uncanny Media production, the podcast is available on BBC Sounds from September 27th.

Ghosts Series 4 launches with a behind-the-scenes podcast

The hilarious haunted antics of Ghosts returns tonight for a fourth run.

While the US version has been a success, with 18 episodes and a second series commissioned, the original show continues apace with six new episodes and the promise of another Christmas Special to come too.

For the uninitiated, the story follows Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) and Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe), a young couple who inherit a dilapidated mansion. However, renovation plans for Button House go out the window when Alison discovers she can see the numerous ghosts who also reside there; each of the restless souls met their end on the property.

The hit show, which launched in 2019, comes from the stars of Horrible Histories, all of whom play the ghosts themselves;  Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond. Lolly Adefope and Katy Wix also star.

Here’s the synopsis for Series 4:

This series Alison and Mike open their much anticipated, bijoux B&B in the gatehouse at Button House. They are determined to get the very best reviews, knowing their livelihoods depend on it.

As Alison becomes consumed by the demands of the more difficult guests and Mike works tirelessly to ensure they provide 5-star entertainment, the Ghosts face a startling event that that will change their lives/deaths forever. A stroke of terrible bad luck threatens the future of Button House.

Ghosts Series 4 begins tonight, September 23rd, at 8.50 pm on BBC One. Additionally, the whole series also lands on BBC iPlayer too.

A Ghostly Podcast too

To accompany the new series, there’s a new BBC Sounds podcast which is produced by Bafflegab.

Inside… Ghosts promises to take fans behind the scenes of the show, with contributions from the cast. Nathan Byron, who plays Mike and Alison’s friend Obi, hosts the podcast.

Each episode will focus on a particular ghost, looking back at that character’s evolution throughout the four series and revealing the real-life inspirations behind them

Episodes of Inside… Ghosts will be available weekly after each episode airs on BBC One.
