Series 4 is set to begin filming in the New Year.
With another Christmas Special imminent, guest starring Jennifer Saunders, the BBC have announced that Ghosts is coming back for a fourth time around too.
When the show returns, Button House will finally be open for business – or at least its gatehouse will be as a Bed and Breakfast. Can Alison and Mike make a success of it, or will the ghosts scupper their plans?
In addition to the living, Charlotte Ritchie and Kiell Smyth-Bynoe, Ghosts stars its spectral creators Mathew Baynton, Simon Farnaby, Martha Howe-Douglas, Jim Howick, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, as well as Lolly Adefope and Katy Wix.
On the upcoming series, its creators say: “We are thrilled to be returning to Button House for a fourth series. We are already working on new stories and can’t wait to share the next chapter.”
Ghosts in the USA
As well as being a big hit at home, Ghosts crossed the pond this year for a remake on CBS; starring iZombie’s Rose McIver, it ran for ten episodes this autumn. We’re waiting to hear if it’s been successful enough to go again.
If you can cope with a view askew, here’s the US trailer:
Meanwhile, back in Blighty, Ghosts Series 4 will again run for six episodes. Monumental Television produce the show in association with Them There for the BBC. The producer is Pat Tookey-Dickson. The show’s six creators serve as Executive Producers alongside Monumental’s Alison Carpenter, Debra Hayward and Alison Owen.
While we wait for the new run, all of Ghosts is available to stream on iPlayer (That’s 18 episodes, plus the 2020 Christmas Special). Enjoy!
