Marvel has released another trailer for Guardians Of The Galaxy, featuring the first glimpse of Doctor Who star Karen Gillan’s fight scene with Zoe Saldana.

Gillan plays the villainous Nebula in the movie.

Discussing her fight with Star Trek Into Darkness star Saldana, who plays Gamora, she previously revealed: “Yeah, there’s a big girlie fight sequence, but it’s not that girlie. [Zoe Saldana] is really experienced in the physical stuff, she was a ballerina. She’s really amazing at all of that stuff.”

Gillan joked: “She barely required any rehearsal, she was like, ‘I can do this.’ I required two months of rehearsals every day that I wasn’t shooting, because I looked like spaghetti when I started.”

Guardians Of The Galaxy is released in UK cinemas on Thursday 31 July.

The epic space adventure expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

The cast also includes Chris Pratt, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Djimon Hounsou and Benicio Del Toro.

Discussing her character earlier this year, Gillan revealed: “Okay, so Nebula does not find herself funny. I find her hilarious. But she can’t find herself hilarious, that’s not scary.”

The Scottish actress played companion Amy Pond in Doctor Who from 2010 to 2012.
