Ahead of the show’s August 5th debut, the streamer has released an official (and presumably) final trailer.

The show has previously released a first-look teaser with its date announcement. However, this full trailer which debuted at the San Diego Comic Con grants us a wider look at the show’s epic scope. It offers a little more of Jenna Colman’s Johanne Constantine – and much more of Boyd Holbrook’s disturbing rogue, the Corinthian.
The trailer also give us first encounters with Gwendoline Christie’s Lucifer and Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death. For more on both of these characters in action, IGN have exclusive clips from the show too. One sees Dream encounter Lucifer when he visits hell to collect some lost property, in the other he observes Death as she goes about her work.
Based on Neil Gaiman’s beloved DC comic series, the first season of The Sandman will play out over ten chapters.
Here’s the synopsis:
There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams, gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever.
To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.
The show has compiled stellar cast list, with Tom Sturridge in the lead role of Dream. For more on The Sandman, check out our previous coverage here.

The official trailer has also been followed up by a three-minute featurette. Neil Gaiman introduces some of the show’s characters, with brief comments from the principal cast and the other executive producers.
The Sandman comes to Netflix on the 5th of August.
