Saoirse Ronan, who was recently nominated for every award going for her starring turn in Lady Bird, heads up an impressive cast in her next movie, The Seagull. Annette Benning, Elisabeth Moss, Billy Howle and Corey Stoll also have roles, and Michael Mayer directed the picture.

Based on a play of the same name by Anton Chekov, The Seagull is set in Russia in the 1800s and tells a comical story regarding romantic relations between a group of friends at a lakeside estate.

At the start of the story, Billy Howle’s character is in a loving relationship with Saoirse Ronan’s character. But the arrival of Corey Stoll’s character – a celebrity – throws a spanner in the works. As you’ll see when you watch the trailer, the story make lovelorn fools of pretty much all its characters.
