The first trailer for the new season of Doctor Who has been unveiled.

The 90-second video features the return of Michelle Gomez as Missy and the first look at Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams’ character.

The start date for Season 9 has also now been officially confirmed.

Jenna Coleman revealed yesterday: “[The Doctor and Clara have] got to a place where she’s no longer split between her life and Doctor Who life. She kinda throws herself into the TARDIS and her life with the Doctor and joins him in reckless abandon.”

The new season has been filming in Cardiff since January and will begin on BBC One in September.
