Wednesday Season 2 cast revealed as the show enters production

Steve Buscemi, Thandiwe Newton and Billie Piper join the main cast of Wednesday‘s second run. 

With Wednesday back in production, in Ireland rather than Bulgaria this time. the show has confirmed its cast.

Naturally Jenna Ortega returns to her star-making lead role as Wednesday Addams.

She’s joined by Emma Myers as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Hunter Doohan as Tyler, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Georgie Farmer as Ajax. Plus, Victor Dorobantu as Thing.

New series regulars include Steve Buscemi as Barry Dort, Billie Piper as Capri,  as well as Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor.

Wednesday’s relatives, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán and Isaac Ordonez, who play Morticia, Gomez and Pugsley Addams, are also promoted to the status of regulars. As is Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo who plays Deputy Ritchie Santiago.

There are a few missing names. Percy Hynes White does not return as Xavier Thorpe, and neither does Naomi J Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka. Also, Jamie McShane will only appear as Sheriff Donovan Galpin in a guest capacity.

The show also has an impressive roster of guests, with a mixture of familiar and new names.

Fred Armisen reprises his Uncle Fester, while the legendary Christopher Lloyd, who played Fester in the two 90s Addams Family movies, appears in an unspecified role. This follows Christina Ricci, the movie Wednesday, who appeared in Season 1.

We can also look forward to meeting Grandmama, played by Joanna Lumley, as well as Thandiwe Newton as Dr. Fairburn. Also, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and the Star Wars Wookie actor Joonas Suotamo.

The cast announcement video also reveals the title of the new season’s first episode, with scripts delivered by Thing. “Here We Woe Again” is written by showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, and directed by Tim Burton. The legendary director previously helmed the first half of Season 1.

Millar and Gough said:

“We are thrilled that the entire Addams family will be enrolling in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.” 

Wednesday Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
