About a Boy writer Nick Hornby has adapted Nina Stibbe’s award-winning book Love, Nina for BBC One.

The five-part series is a fictionalised adaptation of author Nina Stibbe’s letters home to her sister.

Twenty years old and from Leicester, Nina (Faye Marsay) moves to North London in 1982, to care for the two young boys of a working single mother, George (Helena Bonham Carter), the editor of a London literary review.

Nina is interviewed by George and meets Max (Harry Webster) and Joe (Ethan Rouse) for the first time at Gloucester Crescent.
