Speaking to BBC Wales Today, Davies pondered: “It’s interesting as to how long I can stay in the science-fiction world. Personally, I think I’m coming to the end of it now and I’ve saved the world and blown up the world too many times.”
He continued: “I hope I leave Torchwood in rude health, then I’ll probably move on to something else. It’s time to write something just with people talking in kitchens I think after this for me. But I hope we literally leave the franchise in a very strong position that other writers can come in and take it over.”
The new 10-part series will premiere this July and is a co-production between BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Worldwide and US network Starz. Joining returning cast members John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Kai Owen are Mekhi Phifer (ER), Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Alexa Havins and Arlene Tur.
