UK viewers will soon be able to watch Counterpart, a sci-fi drama featuring Whiplash star and Justice League cameo-er J.K. Simmons. The series, which debuted on the Starz network over in the States last December, will come to the UK via StarzPlay on September 28th.

StarzPlay is an additional extra for members of Amazon Prime Video, which costs an added £4.99 a month. 7-day free trials are available, though, if you want to check out Counterpart without paying extra.

If you’re wondering what the show is all about, here’s the official synopsis…

“What might be different if a person could co-exist in an alternate world? Howard Silk, a low-level agent whose career is winding down at a Berlin-based United Nations spy agency, unwittingly learns the answer. Upon discovering his organization is harboring a secret, that of a gateway to a parallel dimension, Howard becomes immersed in a mysterious world of espionage, intrigue, and government conspiracies. There, the only man Howard can trust is Prime, his almost identical counterpart from a divergent reality.”

And here’s the trailer…

Joining Simmons in the Counterpart cast are Olivia Williams, Harry Lloyd, Nazanin Boniadi, Sara Serraiocco, Ulrich Thomsen and Nicholas Pinnock. The ten-part series was created by Justin Marks.

That date to mark on your calendar, again, is September 28th. That’s when Counterpart will pop up on Amazon Prime Video via the StarzPlay add-on.
