Doctor Who spin-off Class is being revived by Big Finish, episode details now released

As many fans were hoping, the story of Doctor Who spin-off Class is being picked up by the excellent folks over at Big Finish.

Class, created by Patrick Ness, came to an end after one series, leaving things on a cliffhanger too. But the BBC opted not to press ahead with a second series, leaving story threads dangling.

Audio drama specialists Big Finish have now inked a deal, and is working on six new audio adventures for the Class team. These will be spread over two volumes, although it doesn’t look as though Ness himself is involved in them. The cast from the show is returning, though, and Sophie Aldred is set to make an appearance as Ace, too.

Furthermore, Big Finish has now confirmed the breakdown of stories that we’re going to get…

1.1 Gifted by Roy Gill

1.2 Life Experience by Jenny T Colgan

1.3 Tell Me You Love Me by Scott Handcock

2.1 Everyone Loves Reagan by Tim Foley

2.2 Now You Know… by Tim Leng

2.3 In Remembrance by Guy Adams

The official announcement also notes that “Class is now returning on audio with six new adventures made in arrangement with BBC Studios. Set during the television series, Class is back in session with the original cast. Greg Austin plays Charlie Smith, Fady Elsayed plays Ram Singh, Sophie Hopkins plays April MacLean, Vivian Oparah plays Tanya Adeola, Jordan Renzo plays Matteusz Andrzejewski and Katherine Kelly plays Miss Andrea Quill”.

The news was originally broken in the new issue of Doctor Who Magazine, and Class: The Audio Adventures will arrive in August.
