Merlin‘s executive producer Johnny Capps has hinted at the importance of the Knights of the Round Table in the fourth series of the fantasy drama, which returns to BBC One later this year.
Speaking to SFX, Capps revealed: “The knights are important characters throughout the series. They are around a lot.”
He continued: “In Series 4 Camelot has changed to a certain degree. Uther is a broken man, so Arthur has to take a little bit more control. And he has managed to keep the knights around. People are surprised that he has given these people that aren’t of noble birth the title of knight. So there’s an interesting tension around him and his posse of knights.”
Capps also confirmed that Series 4 will now run for 13 episodes, rather then the previously announced 10.
