Here’s some good news: the comedy series Motherland is to return for a second series, as the BBC has picked up more episodes of the show.
The show is penned by Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh, Graham Linehan and Helen Linehan, and was originally picked up in the first place after a successful pilot episode in 2016. Last November, the first series of the show proper launched, and quickly earned acclaim.
Anna Maxwell-Martin, Diane Morgan and Paul Ready starred in the show, and all are expected back for the new series.
Morgan has admitted that the logistics of putting the new episodes together are proving tricky, given that “there’s quite a few writers on it so just getting us together and available at the same time but we’re working it out, for sure”.
She also confirmed “we definitely want to get a few more mums in there” in the new series.
Filming is expected to start later this year.
