Noughts And Crosses: new BBC series adds Being Human creator

Posted Filed under

Things are moving forward on a new BBC drama, an adaptation of Malorie Blackman’s young adult novel, Noughts & Crosses.

The book follows an alternative 21st century UK, one where people are segregated by the colour of their skin. Being Human creator Toby Whithouse has been hired to oversee the scripting of the six part series, it’s been revealed, with filming set to commence later this year.

Other writers on board the project are Lydia Adetunji and Nathaniel Price, with Kibwe Tavares also joining the programme to direct its first three episodes.

Mammoth Screen is producing this one for the BBC, and the show has been in gestation since at least 2016.
