Riverdale: first poster and pictures from season 3

Riverdale is set to return next month with more pulpy teen thrills next month on October 11th for UK viewers, and The CW have released the first poster alongside some new stills.

Entertainment Weekly have been teasing season three, which will kick off with KJ Apa’s Archie on trial for murder, and they’ve given us the first look at the woman trying to put him behind bars, the town’s prosecutor, Ms. Wright (played by Penelope Ann Miller).

The CW also gave us the poster for season three, which shows a rather sinister moose and emphasises the promotion of Vanessa Morgan’s Toni and Charles Melton’s Reggie to leading roles.

That poster looks a little like this..

Previous story…

Riverdale, The CW’s über-campy teen mystery series, is set to return this autumn for its third season in less than two years, and The CW have released the first trailer for it.

After season two’s shocking cliffhanger – with resident heartthrob Archie Andrews shipped off to prison – the third season is set to pick up on the aftermath of Archie’s arrest as well as the final Black Hood reveal.

Stars KJ Apa, Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Cole Sprouse are all returning as series regulars alongside new guest stars like Michael Consuelos, Mark Consuelos’ son, who will play the young version of his father’s character and John Hughes collaborator Anthony Michael Hall as Riverdale’s old principal.

The trailer teases Archie in handcuffs as well as sporting a Serpents tattoo, a prison yard fight, lots of sexy scenes and Riverdale‘s continual adoption of its fandom’s lexicon, with Veronica saying, “we will survive whatever you have planned because we are endgame”.

And here’s the trailer in all its neon glory…

Riverdale season 3 premieres in the US on Wednesday 10th October on The CW and like past years, it will be available on Netflix UK on Thursday 11th, one day later.

We’ll pass on any news about this series as we get it.
