The first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Discovery season 2 has arrived on the web, allowing anticipant fans to sneak a peek behind the scenes of the Disco crew’s next adventure. Production only started very recently on Discovery season 2, so you shouldn’t expect any finished special effects in this promo video.
There is still plenty to feast your eyes and ears on, though, including new costumes, iconic lines of dialogue, intriguing blueprints, prosthetics in progress, and a cheeky glimpse at the bridge of the Enterprise. For hardcore fans with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the room numbers on the Enterprise, there is also a fairly sizeable Easter Egg waiting to be discovered.
Without further ado, here’s the first Star Trek: Discovery teaser trailer…
It might be a while before we get a full-length Star Trek: Discovery season 2 trailer, but this should tide us over nicely. It should be fun to see Sonequa Martin-Green’s Michael Burnham and her adopted father Sarek (James Frain) crossing paths with the Enterprise crew.
The retro Enterprise bridge looks perfect in the teaser above, and Inhumans star Anson Mount is a great piece of casting for the iconic ship’s incumbent captain, Christopher Pike. Although James T Kirk hasn’t made it onto the Enterprise at this point in the timeline, fans are hoping to see a young Spock – Sarek’s biological child – at some point in the season.
An official Star Trek: Discovery season 2 release date has not been announced yet, but speculation points towards early 2019.
More as we hear it.
